Dia & Co. Styling Service
What is Dia & Co? From their website:
Dia & Co is an online personal styling service for women sizes 14 and up. We take the time to get to know you, then send hand-selected clothing and accessories chosen to match your personal style and fit your body beautifully.
If you are like me, you hate trying on clothes in public. I'm a big girl. I have hips. I have boobs. I have a big ass. My arms are my least favorite feature of my body. Bingo wings they call them. They don't fit in shirts and don't even talk to me about sleeveless clothes. I hate bathing suits, but t-shirt style swim shirts are not the best either - they tend to balloon in the water.
I've been seeing ads on Facebook for months about this company. I've also read reviews on My Subscription Addiction and decided maybe it was time to give it a try.
The way it works
Head to the website and fill out a profile. Its pretty in depth. You can pick colors you don't want. Do you want jackets, shoes, jewelry. I was immediately impressed by the profile questions. You can also let them know your budget level. I chose "as low as you can go," to see what the quality of that was.
You pay $20 for a styling fee. If you choose to keep anything, that $20 is applied to your purchase. Shipping is free and you only pay for what you want to keep. The items you don't want to keep you just put in the pre-paid envelope and ship back to them, also free.
It only took a few days for my first box to come. I was super excited. From the photos I saw online, I was expecting a really cute dress with bold colors and style.
What's in the box

The information card is on top of the package when you open it up. Underneath that is some nice tissue paper with a logo sticker. I of course ripped that apart to see what was inside.
Here is what I found...
Celebrity Pink Skinny Jeans
This is my favorite item in the box. They look great. They fit great. I'm definitely keeping these.
Score 5/5
Price: $55.00
Meri Skye Michelle Asymmetric Detailed Tee in Forest Green
Frankly, this shirt is ugly. I hate the detail. I hate the cut. Its way too big as well. I don't look happy in the photo either. The color is pretty, but the shirt is just all wrong for me. I don't like the material either. This is going back.
Score: 1/5 - it grips my arms in a way that I hate.
Price: $42
Fashion to Figure Corrine Hi-Low Sweater in Navy
I thought this was purple. According to the invoice, its Navy. Whatever, I hated it as well, its going. I don't like that it zips from the bottom to the top. I don't like how big it is either. It again is all wrong for me.
Score: 1/5 its just not for me.
Price: $46.90
Gilli Ashae Knit Dress in Black & Zoe Necklace in Gold/Ivory
The necklace has a nice length but I hate gold. Rose gold is okay, but this is just gold gold and has ivory accents. I'm sending it back. Its not me.
Score: Dress 4/5 - its a nice dress. Worth keeping as a staple in the closet.
Necklace: 1/5 - I don't like gold. Why keep if I will never wear.
Price: Dress $59.00
Necklace: $29.00
Final Thoughts
I paid a total of $104 for two items I kept. I love the jeans and the dress was cute enough to keep. I think these prices are on par with Lane Bryant and I didn't have to leave the house. If I would have kept everything in the box it would have only cost me $161.42. If you buy everything in the box, you get 25% off. Nice deal, but I would not wear the shirt, sweater or necklace. Ever.
The jeans were dead on in sizing but the shirts were WAY too big. I selected 22 because that is the size I wear, but unfortunately that gets paired with a 3X - I don't wear a 3X - I wear a 2X. So unless they take my note about wearing a 2X top, I don't see that I'll be happy with any of the shirts. I could have sent them back and asked for a different size, they do size exchanges, but I really didn't like the design of the shirts enough to do that.
I'm not pleased with the items overall, I expected so much more. I wanted cute fun go out clothes. I don't have many of those. I am a t-shirt and yoga pants girl. I get so many t-shirts from my boxes each month that I wanted something fancy. It is nice that they encourage you to upload pictures of yourself in the clothes so the stylist can see how they fit. That should help future boxes.
I will get this a few more times, I have it set to send me a box every other month. We'll see how it goes. Don't let me down Priscilla. (no pressure)
Final Score: 3/5
Join me again next time.Sorry pics are so dark, I'll take them outside next time. I also need to learn how to pose. lol. I'll work on that too.
